The family office of the Retherford family.

Drofrehter Corporation oversees the family's assets, operating companies, and intellectual property. It is run with a long horizon and the discipline of a plant controller: every entity reconciled, every decision written down.

Holdings

Holdings

All of the family's businesses sit under one holding company. Each operating company runs on its own, with HeOntotita as owner and the office as overseer.

HeOntotita Corporation

Holding company for all family business holdings

A Michigan corporation that owns every business the family holds, from its consulting firm to its portfolio of patent-anchored ventures. Holding everything in one company keeps ownership clear, keeps each business's liabilities separate, and gives the office one set of consolidated results to review.

  • Owns Diakrisi Corporation and each venture entity
  • Holds the family's patent filings and licenses
  • Runs freedom-to-operate review before a venture advances
  • Reports consolidated results to the family office

Diakrisi Corporation

Management consulting · held by HeOntotita

Consulting in manufacturing finance and accounting, drawing on three decades of plant and corporate controllership.

  • Standard costing and inventory valuation
  • ERP and EPM implementation support
  • Close, budgeting, and controls for manufacturing finance teams

Venture portfolio

Patent-anchored ventures · held by HeOntotita

A portfolio of technology ventures, each organized as its own corporation and built around its own patent filings.

  • Each venture is a separate entity with its own filings
  • Advanced only after freedom-to-operate review
  • Commercialized through licensing to manufacturers and OEMs

Food protectionTraceability and sanitation evidence for food plants
Energy and industryLifecycle evidence for fuels, filters, batteries, and process equipment

Approach

Approach

The office manages the family's affairs the way a well-run plant manages its costs: measured, documented, and built to last.

Patient

Decisions are made for the next generation, not the next quarter.

Private

The office serves one family and does not manage outside capital.

Exact

Every entity reconciles, every month, on controller-grade books.

Owned

The family builds and holds its own companies and inventions rather than renting exposure to them.

Documented

Every material decision has a written record: what was decided, why, and by whom.

Independent

Advisors are chosen for the work, and no one is paid to sell the family a product.

How decisions are made

Every commitment of the family's capital or time follows the same five steps.

  1. IdentifyDefine the opportunity or problem and what it would cost.
  2. DiligenceTest the facts, the numbers, and the legal position.
  3. DecideCommit, pass, or set a condition that must be met first.
  4. DocumentRecord the decision, the reasoning, and who owns it.
  5. ReviewMeasure results against the original case on a set schedule.

The office's year

A fixed calendar, so that nothing depends on memory.

His career has been spent inside manufacturing plants: closing the books, building cost models, and putting new financial systems into service. He has completed ten ERP and EPM implementations across six platforms, and he founded HeOntotita Corporation, the family's holding company, and Diakrisi Corporation.

Drofrehter Corporation is a Michigan corporation, as is HeOntotita Corporation beneath it.

What the office looks for

In a licensee, partner, or counterparty:

  1. A real application. A product line or process where the technology solves a problem today.
  2. A long view. Interest in a relationship measured in years, not a single transaction.
  3. Clean terms. Agreements in writing, with clear scope, ownership, and reporting.
  4. Manufacturing sense. Teams that understand cost, quality, and scale on the plant floor.

Confidentiality

Discretion is part of the work. The office handles every outside conversation the same way.

  1. NDA first. Technical and financial detail is shared only under a signed non-disclosure agreement.
  2. Need to know. Family and company records go only to the advisors working the matter.
  3. Nothing published. The office does not disclose holdings, figures, or counterparties.
  4. Written record. What was shared, with whom, and when is logged.
